SERVE
Upon mutual agreement, use your skills and passion to support our mission
This seems like a great program, but I don’t have the capacity to mentor right now. Can I get involved in other ways?
Absolutely! Aging UP gratefully works with volunteers and community partners. Opportunities include:
- Educational Partners use their expertise to present independent living skills during an UPshop or to lead a mentor training session.
- Event Volunteers help with tasks before, during and after events. Events may involve youth and mentors or guests from the general public.
- Fundraising Volunteers hold third-party events with proceeds to benefit Aging UP, or fundraise through other agreed-upon efforts.
- Admin Volunteers perform a variety of administrative tasks, based on needs and skills.
- Outreach Volunteers are outgoing individuals who help set up information booths and represent our mission during events.
Each volunteer role varies in commitment and may be adapted based on specific expertise and/or availability. Successful interview and any necessary clearances or training are required prior to serving as a volunteer.
What qualities do you look for in a volunteer?
Just like our mentors, our volunteers must have a passion to empower youth from foster care to reach their full potential. We also work with volunteers who are:
- Open-minded, dependable, and trustworthy
- Able to respectfully represent Aging UP to help fulfill our mission
- Committed to fully engage in any committed task(s)
If you have a passion that complements our mission or wish to inquire about available committee or board positions, please email april@agingup.org.
