Born This Way Foundation, founded by Lady Gaga and her mother Cynthia Germanotta, has a mission to empower youth to create a kinder and braver world.
We couldn’t be more honored or excited to be a partner of its Channel Kindness Tour and Year End Giving Campaign. Not only is Born This Way Foundation donating all funds raised between December 19 and January 19 to Tour Partners, but it is also matching up to $15,000!
This is an incredible opportunity that will benefit Aging UP and many of the nonprofits BTWF partnered with during Lady Gaga’s Joanne World Tour, which began in August.
The tour included a unique element where local grassroots organizations were invited to showcase their missions and gain additional awareness. Aging UP was the proud Channel Kindness Tour Partner for the Sacramento show on August 15, 2017.
Our founders April and Kecia met hundreds of concert goers and utilized the event to kickoff mentor recruitment. That seems like a long time ago as, shortly after, Mentor Orientations were held and the applicant screening process began. In November, we invited our first group of 10 wonderful people to attend Mentor Training, which begins this month!
The funds we receive from Born This Way Foundation will be utilized to recruit, screen, and train our next group of mentors. Each nonprofit Tour Partner is doing exceptional work in their communities.
